Authorized Plagiarism During the Early Classical Period:
Part 2 with Robert Newman
During hour two of our chat with Robert, we discuss some specific Mozart compositions and their true authors. According to Mr. Newman, dozens of composers contributed to the Mozart repetoire, including A.C. Cartellieri, G. Sarti, A. Luchesi, G.B. Vanhal, J. Myslivececk, P. Wranitsky and more. We provide audio examples of requiems by Joseph Haydn and Gossec, demonstrating the similarities to Mozart’s final composition, KV626, the Requiem. Robert extends the offer to any conventional musicologist to come on the show and challenge him in a debate on the true history of Mozart.
